George Kogan

Senior Advisor | New York

George has 20+ years of experience in emerging equity and debt markets, primarily in capital market roles at a number of leading investment banks.

Prior to Bridge Haven, George ran capital markets strategy for a best-in-class Emerging Europe Rail Leasing business. His prior roles included Investment Banks such as Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), Renaissance Capital and Troika Dialog. While at Renaissance Capital, George actively marketed a number of Renaissance private equity products including the Macquarie Renaissance Infrastructure Fund (MRIF).  Before his capital markets activities, George was part of the Eastern European team for Geneva based Banque Privee Edmond de Rothschild (BPER), working with ulta high net worth clients. 

In 2001, George was one of the co-founders and headed marketing efforts at Prince Street Capital Management, an emerging markets hedge fund which continues to operate.  Prior to Prince Street, he was active in investing and capital raising for Israeli technology start-ups.

George holds an MA in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a BA in European History and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He is fluent in Italian and Russian and is Series 7 and 63 registered with FINRA.

Juan Marquez

Senior Advisor | Madrid

Juan has more than 25 years of experience in finance and is a former senior banking executive with broad experience in international investment banking coupled with a deep knowledge of the asset management and alternative asset classes. As an equities specialist Juan's clients included institutional international asset managers and pension funds.

Juan has held senior roles with SG Warburg, SBC Warburg and UBS Investment banking in Spain and Portugal (Iberia) starting in 1990 and through to 2003. Juan was Head of Equity Distribution for Iberia covering initially international institutional clients and subsequently in charge of the distribution of global products to Iberian clients.

Juan was also a member of SBC Warburg´s European Heads of Equity Distribution Committee where he held various CRM responsibilities across all product capabilities for Iberia (global equities, equity derivatives, research, block trading and alternatives). He is also a former board member of SG Warburg Securities Spain, SBC Warburg Securities Spain and UBS Investment Bank Spain. The Iberian Equities team which Juan was part of was consistently ranked in the top three in the equity research and sales surveys conducted by Extel, Thompson Reuters, Greenwich and Institutional Investor.

Juan also worked on the distribution side on almost every privatization transaction undertaken by the Spanish and Portuguese Governments between 1992 and 1999,  including, Repsol II, III, IV, and V, Argentaria I, II, III, Portugal Telecom I and II, Endesa III, Aceralia, Aldeasa , Amadeus,  and Gas Natural. Juan was also involved on Spain´s first ever Euro financing by the Kingdom of Spain.

Before SG Warburg, Juan worked from 1988 to 1989 at Gescapital  Gestion SA, an asset management boutique in Spain.

Since 2005 Juan has worked as an independent consultant in association with a number of hedge funds, private equity and real estate specialists. His clients include institutional investors and family offices.

Juan studied at Eton College and earned a Bsc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science as well as Masters in Economics from Reading University. Juan is fluent in both Spanish and English.


Karan S. Chadha

Senior Advisor | London

Karan is the Principal of Farlap Capital, http://www.farlapcapital.com, which he founded in June 2015. Prior to Farlap Capital, Karan was the Head of Principal Investments at ACPI Investments, a London based multi-family office and private wealth manager. At ACPI, Karan was responsible for originating, structuring and distributing proprietary transactions across a diverse range of asset classes. He worked on numerous primary and secondary deals across private equity, senior and mezzanine debt, real estate and structured credit. Previously, Karan worked as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Aladdin Capital, London, managing emerging market and high yield credit. Prior to Aladdin, he was a Partner and Senior Portfolio manager at Washington Square Investment Management, a London based structured credit hedge fund that was later acquired by the Blackstone Group. He was also a member of the investment team at Oaktree Capital Management, Los Angeles, responsible for investing the firm's assets in high yield and distressed credit. He began his career at JPMorgan Securities, New York, as an Analyst in the Leveraged Finance Group helping finance leveraged buyouts, recapitalisations and DIP financings.

Karan will be sourcing direct deals across the capital structure for Bridge Haven as well as helping with investor introductions.

Karan has a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster, USA and sits on the Board of Directors for Bulldog London Dry Gin (CK3 LLC).

 


Michael Whealon

Senior Advisor | London

Michael has over 25 years of senior level investment banking experience most of which has been focused on global private equity, leveraged finance, mergers and acquisition and debt/equity capital markets.

Michael is currently a Managing Partner at Fox Point Capital Advisors Limited (www.foxpointcap.com) based in London.  Fox Point is an investment banking advisory, consulting, and principal investment firm, which he founded in 2009.  Since inception, Michael has had two long term consulting contracts that include Sharebridge Private Equity Consolidated (now Vanbridge LLC), a Stone Point Capital portfolio company, and Global Family Partners Limited, a multi-family office firm focused on direct private equity investments.

Michael was previously a Managing Director at Marsh and McClennan Companies (MMC) in New York and London where he was Head of the Global Telecoms, Media & Technology Industry Practice.  Before MMC, Michael was Managing Director & Head of Global Telecoms, Media & Technology Investment Banking at ING Barings Limited, London.  There he was also a member of the European Management Committee and Investment Committee for ING Barings Client Investment Fund.  Prior to this, Michael was a Managing Director of Investment Banking at Bear Stearns in New York and London.  At Bear Michael held several senior level positions that included Managing Director- Structured Debt Capital Markets Group, Head of Canadian Investment Banking Group and Head of European Telecoms, Technology and New Media Group.  Michael started his career in Chemical Bank’s Corporate Banking Group and at CIBC Wood Gundy in their Capital Markets & Derivative Products Group in New York.

As an active Senior Advisor to Bridge Haven, Michael has oversight of all investment banking activities that include direct private equity investments.

Michael received a BA from Boston College and is an American National.  Michael is registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority to work with clients in the United Kingdom and across the EMEA.

 


Paul Lipari  

Senior Advisor | Scottsdale  

Mr. Lipari is a co-founder of Hudson Capital Advisors, a merchant bank focused on debt and equity private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and sourcing principal opportunities.  Mr. Lipari started Hudson Capital in 2003 and then subsequently moved on to Columbus Nova (a family office) in 2006.  At Columbus Nova, Mr. Lipari was a senior partner overseeing their fixed income, private equity and real estate investment platforms.  During this time, Mr. Lipari, created structured and developed (through acquisitions) a $14 Billion CLO Manager (CIFC, Corp.).  In 2015, Mr. Lipari re-joined Hudson Capital full time to continue building the firm he co-founded.
       
Before starting Hudson Capital, Mr. Lipari worked at Trimaran Capital Partners, a $1.0 billion private equity fund where he was primarily focused on Media and Telecommunications investments.  Prior to joining Trimaran Capital Partners, Mr. Lipari was an Executive Director in the Leveraged Finance group for CIBC World Markets and worked on a variety of senior bank debt, high yield debt and private/public equity transactions.  While in the Leveraged Finance Group at CIBC, Mr. Lipari spent considerable time working on numerous financings for Global Crossing and was partially responsible for monitoring CIBC’s private equity investment in Global Crossing.  Before joining CIBC World Markets, Mr. Lipari worked at Salomon Brothers Inc where he was an associate in their High Yield Group and an analyst in their Merchant Banking Group.  
       
Mr. Lipari has sat on various private and public company boards including CIFC, Corp. and Global Crossing.  
       
Mr. Lipari received his M.B.A. from The Amos Tuck Business School at Dartmouth and his B.A. from Yale University.


Raj Pandya  

Advisor / Project Manager | New York  

Raj holds a variety of experience across finance and management consulting. Prior to Bridge Haven, Raj worked at PwC Consulting as part of the firm’s foray into management consulting, handling global restructuring mandates within asset management as well as business development initiatives to help expand the firm’s advisory offerings. Prior to PwC, Raj assisted Lone Star Funds in evaluating distressed real estate portfolios as part of their originations and underwriting teams in both London and New York.

Raj has also advised a number of leading investment banks following the 2008 financial crisis regarding their corporate structures and risk exposures as a senior member of Protiviti’s global consulting team. Raj began his career at Deutsche Bank as part of their Healthcare M&A team in New York, as well as PENN Capital Management in Philadelphia, as a member of their portfolio management team across their credit and fixed-income vehicles.

Raj holds a Masters from Cambridge University as well as a Bachelors from Rutgers College.
